Disclaimer

Climb at your own risk

Climbing, bouldering, and outdoor activities are inherently dangerous and may result in injury, illness, property damage, or death. OpenTopo Japan is an open-source community project and does not accept responsibility for your safety, decisions, actions, or use of the information shown here.

Wildlife and outdoor hazards

Bouldering is an outdoor sport. Depending on the area, you may encounter wild animals such as boar, bear, and monkeys. Always be prepared: check bear sighting information, carry bear mace, and look up guidance on how to handle a bear or boar encounter before visiting.

Use data as a reference only

GPS coordinates, topo lines, access notes, grades, and conditions may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or approximate. Always rely on your own judgment, experience, current conditions, and common sense.

Respect access, land, and community

Access conditions can change at any time. You are responsible for confirming land ownership and permissions, respecting rules, closures, and local communities, and following Leave No Trace principles. A location appearing here does not mean it is legally or currently accessible.

Contribute in good faith

Only submit content you have the right to share. Do not copy photos, maps, text, or other resources from guidebooks, websites, apps, or other sources without permission. Contributions should be accurate, respectful, and made in good faith.

Always support local guidebook developers

OpenTopo is community driven and is provided only for convenience, including updated area information and newly added lines. It is not a replacement for locally developed guidebooks. Always purchase a physical guidebook when one is available to support its authors, local area maintenance, and the climbing community.
